Help a Local Author Make His Dreams Come True

Choices. Every day we make choices. It’s the nature of our journey through life. It’s this concept that local author, Jason Peterson, has woven throughout his graphic novel, Fighting Hell. Written by Jason, this novel was started 10 years ago after hearing from friends and family that he needed to put his stories on paper. Jason feels the time is right to get the first book published and released.
Drawing inspiration from nightmares, the main concept of the story is how the choices you make are affected by how you view life and what kind of person you are. It is the story of a man trying to make the right choices and the repercussions of those choices.  Jason currently has 10 books written and says that this is only the beginning of the story. The other members of the creative team include artist Shawn Alleyne and colorist Matthew Seel. Like Jason, both Shawn and Matthew are local artists. The three were connected through a mutual friend and created the perfect team for Fighting Hell
The enthusiasm and pride Jason has for his novel comes through when he is speaking about the story and his team. He will even pull out his phone to show off some of the artwork. He has plans to create merchandise to go along with the graphic novel, video games, and possibly a movie. Wherever this journey takes him, Jason is willing to go. But dreams alone will not give his project wings. He needs to raise the necessary funds to have the novel printed and distributed and pay his team for their work, dedication and passion for the project.
To help raise funds, Jason turned to Kickstarter, a website that helps to fund various creative projects. It allows individuals to get the funding necessary to get their projects up and running. Each project has a limited number of days to reach its funding goal through pledges from people.  Once the goal has been reached, the project becomes funded and can be brought to fruition. If after the 30-day period the goal has not been reached, the project is not funded no matter how much has already been pledged.
This is where you can help Jason and his team. Jason, Shawn and Matt have until December 30th to fully fund their project. They need your help to get Fighting Hell fully funded through Kickstarter.  You can choose to pledge any amount starting at $1 to help Jason and his creative team see their work come to life.    To pledge to Fighting Hell, visit www.fightinghell.com. If you would like to donate but prefer not to do so online, you can send your donation to Delaware County Magazine, P.O. Box 1709, Havertown, PA 19083.

   It’s your choice.
