Party Planning: Stress-Free Holiday Parties

The holidays are here! That means that parties are going to start popping up all over. You may even be considering throwing one. But how do you make your party stand out from all the rest? And how do you do that without breaking the bank?

Don’t fret! We have some fun holiday party ideas that will create a memorable event for your guests that won’t drain your holiday gifts fund. These parties are fairly stress-free, fun and can be combined with each other to create a wonderful party. For example, an Open House Cookie Exchange!

Have an Open House
This is a great way for those with large extended families and many friends. Pick a date and certain hours that friends and family can drop by for some holiday cheer. Serve smaller dishes that you can make ahead instead of one big meal. (Think appetizers and trays of cookies.) Decorate your home festively and have some holiday music playing in the background. Focus on spending time with your guests as they drop by at their convenience on that day.

Cookie Exchange
Invite friends to bring a dozen or so cookies and perhaps the recipe for a relaxed get-together. Enjoy the delicious treats, catch up over a cup of hot cocoa and send everyone home with a bag of cookies. This is a fun way to add new recipes to your recipe box.

Holiday Pajama Party

Throw a very relaxed party when you ask your guests to wear fun, holiday pjs! Get your guests thinking creatively by awarding a prize for the Most Festive PJs. Consider serving breakfast dishes like pancakes and waffles instead of a more traditional dinner to keep everyone in a pjs mood. Throw a favorite holiday movie or two on the TV, pop some popcorn and enjoy a stress-free evening!
